P. Avery Miller (Pam Schussel) will be the featured artist at the Gallery for the month of March. Please plan to attend the reception on Friday, March 5th from 5 to 8 pm at the CAG Gallery to celebrate "A Potpourri for Spring." This reception coincides with the March French Quarter Art Walk.

Pam is a painter and fiber artist. She received her B.A. in Fine Art from the Pennsylvania State University and also studied at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh University and Rollins College. She has received instruction from Barbara Putnam, Will Barnett, Joyce Hall, and Martin Ahrens and earned her Journeyman Hand Weaver's rating from the prestigious Weaver's Guild of Boston.

Pam has taught painting and fibre arts at the Crealde Art Center in Winter Park, Florida. She has served as the president of the Community of I'On Artists and is currently Vice President of the Charleston Artist Guild.

Her work reflects a passion for the natural world and man's connection to it. "I strive to create a counterpoise between traditional colors and contemporary composition in a painterly realistic style." Her inspiration is derived from her New England roots, her years of living in England and now her relationship to the richness of life in the Lowcountry.
