Raising Butterflies in the SC Lowcountry

Ms. Brenda LeFevre, Coordinator for the Lowcountry Chapter of the Carolina Butterfly Society (CBS) will provide an overview of CBS and introduce techniques involved in raising butterflies such as: host and nectar gardens, harvesting eggs, care of caterpillars, chrysalis formation, and care/release of newly emerged butterflies. Brenda will bring one of the habitats she uses to raise butterflies, along with any “cats” (caterpillars) she may have on hand.
