Yes We Can Vote Them Out!

“They say you can fool some of the people all of the time—and that’s who you really want to focus on.”

That was one of George W. Bush’s jokes. President Obama and the Democrats have adopted it as policy. Fortunately, Obama and the Democrats are fooling fewer and fewer people as time goes on. Their approval ratings are disastrous and the Tea Party is increasingly popular.

Surely the spectacle of Nancy Pelosi and her blatant bribing of House Democrats with taxpayer money in order to pass the monstrosity called healthcare reform should put to rest the idea that there is anything moderate about today’s Democrats. Although 34 Democrats did vote against the bill, Pelosi only allowed them to do that because her strong-arm tactics had already secured the votes necessary to pass the bill.  The no-voters get no credit  for standing on principle.  If they had principles, they would either no longer be Democrats or they would have called out the leadership of their party for abusing their power and governing against the will of the American people.  With the exception of one Congressman from Alabama who changed parties, that has not happened.

We were told before the 2008 election by the media and some conservatives who ought to know better that Obama would govern as a moderate because he was concerned about his legacy.   Considering that Obama was voted the most liberal member of the US Senate, there was absolutely no basis for thinking he would be anything but extremely liberal after the election.  Many who were fooled into believing the moderate canard now understand the truth: Obama is concerned about his legacy, but moderation has nothing to do with it.  He wants as his legacy as much control as possible over the hundreds of personal decisions Americans make every day for themselves and their families. The fact that the way he has governed bears no resemblance to the promises he made as a candidate is immaterial to him.  Power is his goal and the Democrats in Congress are all too happy to help him achieve it.  As long as the Democrats control Congress, personal freedom and prosperity in America will continue to decline.

But this is no time to despair! Americans concerned about an all-powerful federal government  will have a tremendous opportunity this November to put power back into the hands of the people, where it belongs. Many people want to know what they can do now to make sure the Democrats are voted out in November.  Here is a list:

•    Get informed and stay energized from now until the November election.  A great resource is www.lucianne.com. Just reading the comments after the news articles will make you realize you are not even close to being alone.
•    Make sure you are registered to vote and that everyone who thinks like you is registered.
•    Go to www.CharlestonTeaParty.org every day to find out about pending legislation, action items, rallies and volunteer opportunities. Show up whenever possible. You will find fun and   interesting people who love America at every event.
•     Donate to small-government candidates running for office, even if they are not from your district.  Any amount demonstrates your support and will be appreciated.  While you cannot vote for candidates outside of your district, you can let the incumbents know you are supporting their opposition with a donation.
•    Donate to www.CharlestonTeaParty.org.  The amount does not matter.  Even a small donation is appreciated and will be put to good use. Think where would we be today without the energy and organization of the Tea Party!

The Democrats cannot fool all of the people all of the time. We can vote them out. Let’s get going!

I’m just sayin’.  What do you say?  Comments are welcome.
