As you might imagine, being in the Security/Alarm business puts me in direct contact with many home and business owners in the area.  Customers ask a wide range of questions both technical and non-technical but mostly just want to know they are getting a solid product with solid service behind it.   Sometimes though it’s easy to forget the little things, like locking your doors and making sure ALL windows are locked as well.   When I enter  a home, I make it a point to always walk around a home and offer common sense approaches to making sure you are secure.

With Spring gone and Summer upon us, yard work is a must for most homeowners.  This time of year, it seems like almost a weekly chore just to keep the grass trimmed.  The picture below is from the back yard of a customer’s house.  As you can see, the shrubs have had solid Spring growth and are now even covering part of the back door.  This of course provides perfect covering from a would-be burglar giving them access to the window or back door.  My tip for this month is trimming those bushes and trees that are close to the house.  The more rain we get, the harder this task is when coupled with the rest of the yard work, but it’s a must!  Also, in the coming weeks all schools will be getting out for Summer Break.  Unfortunately as the boredom of Summer sets in, some kids lean towards activities which are not as upstanding as we may like.  SO, remember to lock your doors and windows since most of us are gone from the home during the day.

I hope everyone is well and ready to enjoy another GREAT Summer in the Low Country!
